WHUT DA FUX UP?
Trey Tuck dropped Price of Fame and we were probably one of the 1st people to get the iTunes download, no seriously, we bet that the 1st one to get it downloaded, chooses the listening spot. I didn't win but this download was a WIN. We are impressed, and when I say "WE" it's alway about 8 staff members opinions for WDFU posts, and about 7 close friends with blogs/pages/platforms similar to LRMNPC but not better (Ha!) - We get together and discuss music all day for a living.
We hardly EVER do full album reviews, that kind of pressure sucks, but this time there was something to say about every single track! PRICE OF FAME - It was well worth the wait to say the least. 34 seconds into the project we get Trey Tuck going at it!! Short intro to the beat and then straight bars with the 1st song "The Soul"!!! This is the kind of intro we like, show your skill right away, why wait?
2nd song "92 Cents" is a FAVORITE! It's a good track; "when you up they try to milk ya ass like cash cow" - This song sets off the feel that this will be a superior project. It has a rugged feel to it in a sense but the experienced explained really touches imagery that artists don't really reach anymore. Great lyrical content, and ability, ability, ability is the word for Trey Tuck's approach.
"Ruin The Party" is another heater, it's the 1st song with features, but they did not hurt and only helped the super force the album has started with!! It's seriously one of the best we've heard from anyone this year. Yup this album has slid past others we've highly supported.
"Sinnerz" is a much needed type of song, another good lyrical display, and a smooth flowing tune. It's not a filler song, that's a lower class range, this song is a good everyday type listen, very seeable on a playlist on Spotify or iTunes - Hint - Hint...
Break and pause!!! WHUT DA FUX!!! "Running Out of Time" is a true classic. We may use that word a lot in this review, because my god, the production screams "classic", and the content screams, "keep it on repeat!" WELL... That's exactly what we did during a quick break taken before we went through the rest of the album. Listen to this song right now, OMG Status -> LISTEN - New Favorite, ok maybe 2nd favorite, not sure we can't decide... It's DOPE regardless.
OK Back to the album...
Bright side of the story, we've been exposed to the next song, ROCKIN' WIT YA "a woman aint a woman until she knows her worth" - Crazy love song, more like reality in song form. Trey Tuck really touches a few points that many people in relationships can 100% relate to. Worth every minute of listening time.
"Room 414" was a spin on another love story type song. This song is decent, some others may appreciate it more than we do. HOWEVER The chorus is great, it has good emotion, and the feature Monét adds a good vibe to the song, that's really the A+ gainer. This makes it more than a basic love song.
"9" is a song about Trey Tucks Mom - RESPECT - Ok you really need to have the strongest love and humility for your mother and self to dedicate a track to your mother, slapped right in the midst of making a classic album, he drops a song about his mom. DOPE - It's not corny, it's really a solid piece of art. This guy is genius!
"Were the sacrifices you made really worth the price of fame?" That's how real the title song "Price of Fame" kicks off. The chorus is a feel good tone. Trey Tuck comes on and basically plays the facilitator and motivational speak at the same time on the song. It's realistic life direction. With valuable lyrical content, lessons can be learned from listening to this project, and that is fully respectable.
"WWJD" is a dedication to his religion which is cool, some people can relate to this one as well. The whole vibe of the project is ended with this laid back song. It's that last embrace and farewell on an album that really was worth the wait, the listen, the time, and the motivation put into this project!!!
WOW - What an ALBUM! We want more and more!
WHAT DA FUX UP?

What Da Fux Up?
Svpreme Ink is a special kind of talent, why? Why this artist over any other? It's the sound, it's very new age, current, relevant, but unique in a way we can't really explain, so fux that, we won't! We got notice of her with the song "Curve" attached. This sound, the hook, and that damn voice, was an easy win for us!
The production on most songs does sound rather unorthodox but sustainable. Lyrically she's well equipped. No really, it's good talent, not just bars on a beat. It's really down to earth, and realistic. The tone of the music puts you right there... Where the fux is right there, we don't know maaaaannn!! Just listen, you'll get it.
This is an introduction to a very good artists to watch out for.
What Da Fux Up?
For all you out there taking sleeping pills when Evidence music played, stop sleeping sh!t heads. This guy is super dope, when it comes to hip-hop music, you gotta consider him... When it comes to that raw boom bap sound, it's clear in his music. We only say that because it's no doubt classic flavor.
If you're in doubt, we like to give you the MOST to convince you of good music. Wait FUX that, we don't introduce you to good music, only the Best! Something to listen to for a long while...
Bars On Bars!
The greatest thing about Gifted Gab & Blimes Brixton getting the attention, is one thing, and one thing only... BARS ON BARS!!! They are getting props for being lyrical, is this a new time in the music listeners mind when they go back to the lyrics???
Ok we may just be getting all over excited for no reason, that sh!t was HYPE for that little moment though... Still, the ladies "Came Correct" in so many ways. Started off like... 🎶 "They Takin' Staggered Steps, I got Castles To Protect, Uh, Why You Think I Got This Dragons Breath"🎶 Then they followed up with more FLAME!! 🔥 🎶"Let Me Channel My Inner Animal, I'm A Cannibal Like Hannibal, When I Spit It Baby It's Flammable"🎶 This is not to be taken lightly...
"Your Style Is Unpractical, We Laugh At You... Ha, Ha!!" >> DOPE!!
Real Hip-Hop on 1,000!!
I almost wish her image wasn't there, so when I start talking about the talent, you wouldn't think it was this innocent looking neo-soul styled woman! No it's real talk, we've be checking into her story and mostly just listening to the music, that usually tells a good enough story for us here.
The videos are cool, clean, raw, and good watches, can't complain. Someone brought Dynesti's name up when we were talking about underrated female artists. FUX THAT! I see no underrating going on though, she may be under-seen, under promoted, but naaaa not underrate, because every person in the room (16 including me) said "damn" (not exactly but pretty much)! What rock have we been living under, to not know about the talent of Dynesti... The song that did it, and had us blown away is below. Listen and read on...
What Da Fux Up?
Ok that header looks deep, and the tile kind of fits the whole "What are Lyrics" theme. Really it comes down to; who are the listeners? TONS of people bitch and moan over songs today for not having a deeper lyrical content style approach. BUT someone is listening and streaming theses songs to even get the notice from someone who's complaining about it, yeah - I took it there fuka! I too am a bitch and moan representative, sorry it's true!! It gets lame to just vibe to a song because it sounds good at the party, but when I'm at home doing homework, I'm ready for substance, and when looking to create a playlist, I'm fuked! So I get into my Jiggie Joe, Lyri, and Trey Tuck mode, ready for some good lyrics, and full out content. The 3 artists I named are fully in tune with the lyrical approach. Not really a shameless plug for them, but if you want the quick scoop about them, I left more info about each artist below my blog *wink...
As listeners... We're just looking for more, all the time. So when it comes to good music, I think, and just for examples of the know - Migos - Good music, I could listen to them hanging out, or riding in the car, but what if they came with the same sound, with a Kendrick Lamar lyrical approach? Yeah, I'd fuk'n flip out my seat if I heard some sh!t like that!
We give the real views of real people. No blog talk BS just straight facts with no filter at all, uncensored and unmonitored true ridiculousness!
