What Da Fux Up?
Ok that header looks deep, and the tile kind of fits the whole "What are Lyrics" theme. Really it comes down to; who are the listeners? TONS of people bitch and moan over songs today for not having a deeper lyrical content style approach. BUT someone is listening and streaming theses songs to even get the notice from someone who's complaining about it, yeah - I took it there fuka! I too am a bitch and moan representative, sorry it's true!! It gets lame to just vibe to a song because it sounds good at the party, but when I'm at home doing homework, I'm ready for substance, and when looking to create a playlist, I'm fuked! So I get into my Jiggie Joe, Lyri, and Trey Tuck mode, ready for some good lyrics, and full out content. The 3 artists I named are fully in tune with the lyrical approach. Not really a shameless plug for them, but if you want the quick scoop about them, I left more info about each artist below my blog *wink...
As listeners... We're just looking for more, all the time. So when it comes to good music, I think, and just for examples of the know - Migos - Good music, I could listen to them hanging out, or riding in the car, but what if they came with the same sound, with a Kendrick Lamar lyrical approach? Yeah, I'd fuk'n flip out my seat if I heard some sh!t like that!

Sadly, people think we're dissing artists because we say a certain person they like are not great with words. That's not a diss people, it's just a fact, they are not creative with the way they display their lyrics. It's a talent, and let's not forget, everyone cannot have the same talent, we see that daily on The Voice, American Idol, X Factor, whatever, talent isn't something easily acquired. So STFU about it..
It's cool that sites like Rap Genius has the ability to bring together a community of people that can break dow the lyrics of a song and understand the meaning behind the bars, but I think some of these people are REACHING!!!! It's like, they annotate sh!t the artists probably didn't even go as deep on. FOH! Still it is a good platform for those who do spit deeper lyrics in context that may be missed.
So when it's all said and done, we have feel good music, that does not require deep lyrical content, and we have lyrical content. I saw someone say "I can't listen to J. Cole on a Friday" and thousands of people agreed, Is that true for you? What are your thoughts on lyrics?

Jiggie Joe reps CT hard, which we know CT is all about that straight up boom bap hip hop flavor! Joe is not missing a beat on all of the above. We've featured him more than a few times, but his MAJOR LRMNPC FEATURE is happening right now on the featured page. Listen and see our point with the lyrics, and the style... "Breath of fresh air" - is the statement used by a fan to describe his music in the game, so that goes to show what lyrics can do.
Lyri should be a no brainer, her name is the word lyric with out the c. Crazy versatile style, she's straight up hip hop but keeps it LIT!! Confusing kind of, but if you check her out, on the SUNDAY MORNING SPECIAL drops - OMG she's got bars for days! Then on top of that, she makes male and female rappers feel stupid on a regular basis, not with any hate though, just talent, she fux em' up!
Trey Tuck oddly was introduced to LRMNPC through Jiggie Joe, on a song we featured. Honestly, that was not Trey Tuck's shinning point on the site, good verse, but... It wasn't until a couple months later when he dropped STUCK IN A GOOD PLACE when we really caught wind of his lyrical ability. He's now been featured on the Projects page as well as the front page and HeaterZ. Must check out that mixtape, nice listen, and he's no-one you should sleep on.
